It was a Buffalo sports fan's dream night. The Buffalo Bills took on the New York Jets across the border in Toronto Thursday night for a nationally televised game. Unfortunately the "hometown team" wasn't able to beat New York. On the bright side, the Sabres soundly defeated the Montreal Canadiens at HSBC Arena. Oh, and the UB Bulls beat Army at Alumni Arena on the hardwoods. Which game did you watch? Did the remote come in handy? What's your take on the Bills or the Sabres? Sound off on Buffalo.com.
The state Senate defeated a measure to legalize gay marriage in New York. The bill was defeated 38-24. Do you think state lawmakers made the right choice? Do you think New York should join states like Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut who have gay marriage statutes? Sound off on Buffalo.com.
Are we dreaming? Is one of the biggest vacant buildings in Buffalo's downtown area getting a breath of new life? Could be. The Hilton Hotel chain is seriously considering building a 117-room Garden Inn in the former department store building. Keep in mind that it's been empty for several years. It's a $70 million project that would include office space, a health club, and senior living apartments Do you think this is a feasible concept? Will there finally be some "bustle" on that part of Main Street? Or is this another story about interest in the former department store that's doomed to fail? Sound off on Buffalo.com.

Tell us what you think the final score will be and you could win a FREE MyBuffalo t-shirt AND frisbee! It's perfect for throwing at the TV when the Bills don't convert on third down.
OK. We know about toy crazes - we remember Tickle Me Elmo, Xbox 360, and every other toy that has parents standing in line and tackling other grown adults for the last one. That being said, we were quite surprised when we heard about the hottest toy for 2009. It's a Zhu Zhu Pet - a robotic hamster that sells for $10 at retail stores, but because most shelves are bare, it's showing up on eBay, priced at $60-$100. The Zhu Zhu hamsters have names too, like Mr. Squiggles and Pipsqueak. We are stumped at why these toys are such hot sellers, but stranger things have happened. What do you think of the latest toy craze? Are you looking for a Zhu Zhu Pet for the child in your life? Post your comment when you Sound Off on Buffalo.com.
