Try these tricks to save big on your honeymoon

Flights aren't cheap; neither are hotels. That doesn't mean honeymoons have to be expensive. To make the most of your trip, keep these ideas in mind as you plan your post-nuptial escape.

      The Honeymoon Registry

Why not reap the benefits of the registry while you still can? Very similar to a wedding registry, a honeymoon registry allows family and friends to pay for meals, activities or anything else you want on your honeymoon. A honeymoon registry is a service that is sometimes offered through a travel company or directly by your hotel, resort or cruise line. "We'll have clients who want a boating excursion, candle light dinners, bottles of wine and champagne and we'll break those into units for their wedding guests to purchase," says Howard Green, CEO of MoonRings, a Chicago-based honeymoon travel company. "It's really simple, and it's a good way for couples to minimize their honeymoon costs and allows their guests get them something they'll actually use rather than a vase or a gravy bowl." Since it is a bit of a new trend, Green recommends setting up a honeymoon registry as the primary registry to ensure its success since guests tend to gravitate toward the more traditional wedding registry, if it's offered.

      Think Seasonally

Doing your honeymoon on the off-season has its benefits and its risks, even if it means delaying your honeymoon. If you decide on the Caribbean, beware or be aware of hurricane season. Traveling during the rainy season is the time where costs are less, but you run the risk of bad, if not dangerous weather. "It's unfortunate that hurricane season coincides with popular wedding seasons, which is summer through fall, August and September being the most risky months," Green says. "It's always a big issue whether to maximize the value by risking the weather when deciding on the best dates to go. If clients are willing to defer their honeymoon to December to April, they'll have better weather but it'll also be more expensive since it's the high season."

  • CityMade Logistics to sell, ma CityMade Logistics to sell, market and distribute Celox OTC blood clotting products

    • From: jkirchmyer
    • Description:

U.K. Medical products manufacturer MedTrade Products Ltd. has selected CityMade Logistics to manage the sales, marketing and distribution of Celox™ blood clotting products throughout the U.S. and Canada. The 10-year-old Buffalo-based company will provide these services through CityMade Logistics — CityMade’s eCommerce, Fulfillment and Logistics division.

Celox over-the-counter blood clotting products stop all types of bleeding — from mild to moderate to even potentially life threatening arterial bleeding — fast. Battlefield and hospital tested, Celox works independently of the body's normal clotting process and its clotting ability has been proven to work even in the presence of common anti-coagulant blood thinning medications such as Coumadin, Warfarin and Heparin. Celox is also safe for children.

“There are an estimated 40 million people in the U.S. alone who take anti-coagulant blood thinning medications and are at risk if they suffer even a small cut or scrape,” said Celox North America CEO, Madonna Spitler. “We believe Celox will potentially have a significant, positive impact on them and anyone who suffers a mild to severe bleeding wound or injury.

When Celox comes into contact with blood, it quickly swells, gels and binds to form a gel-like clot that stops bleeding fast,” Spitler explained. “And Celox products are easy to use — just open the package, pour, pack and apply pressure. It’s that simple. Celox is a truly remarkable product.”

Celox is available in three formulas. Celox granular can be poured directly on a wound or injury and when pressure is applied, bleeding stops typically within 30 seconds. Celox Gauze products — Gauze Roll and Gauze Pads — are imbedded with full-strength Celox granules and can be placed atop or directly inside a bleeding wound or injury. Celox Nosebleed formula is a small, specially shaped Celox-imbedded pad that can be easily inserted into the nostril to stop nosebleeds. The products retail for between $13 to under $30.

“Because Celox products are lightweight and compact, they’re easy to carry in your car, purse, briefcase, gym bag, backpack, tool box, tackle box, first aid kit — just about anywhere,” Spitler said. “Celox is great to have on hand in the kitchen, if you work with mechanics’ or carpentry tools, if your family plays sports, or if you go hunting, hiking, fishing, boating or camping.  Sometimes when you’re injured, you could be miles from help. Whether you’re at home, in the middle of the woods or the middle of the lake, when you’re waiting for help for yourself, a friend or a child, minutes can seem like hours. Celox can help.”

For more information or to place an order, visit www.celoxsales.com or call 1-866-99CELOX.

CityMade Logistics’ parent company, CityMade, Inc., filed the Celox dba and also recently announced a Direct Public Offering (DPO) of 800,000 shares of common stock to investors. The DPO is registered with the Federal Securities and Exchange Commission and the State Attorney General’s Office. More information is available at www.citymade.com/dpo.

  • Boat Handling Simulator Featur Boat Handling Simulator Featured at Expo

    • From: Sam1
    • Description:

WABASSO, Florida/April 7, 2006 - Have ever wondered if you have what it takes to safely dock and maneuver a twin engine power boat without the risk of dinging or banging? If you have, then the 2006 Treasure Coast Sport Fishing Expo set for May 19, 20, 21, 2006 at the Treasure Coast Square mall in Jensen Beach, Florida, is for you! The Expo will feature the debut of the Chapman School of Seamanship hands-on Boat Handling Simulator.

According to Tom Knighten, Director of Development, Chapman School of Seamanship, "Safe boating is literally no accident. We are proud to launch our new Boating Simulator at the Expo to show our commitment to boating safety."

The Chapman BoatHandling Simulator features a four-foot long, twin-engine power boat that is operated by remote control. The remote control station features a

steerable helm, twin controls with variable throttles and separate forward and reverse selectors just like a real boat. The boat, dock, piers and obstacles float inside a custom-made pool that will be located inside the Treasure Coast Square mall. "The simulator allows the person at the helm to dock, undock and maneuver around obstacles such as buoys, piers and pilings as if you were piloting a large twin-engine sport fishing vessel. This will be an opportunity for someone who has been considering the purchase of a boat to get a hands-on idea of whether they can handle the basics of safe boating without taking a real boat out from the docks. Safe boating is the hallmark of a competent boater," added Knighten.

Sam Yates, Expo founder, said the Boat Handling Simulator is a welcome addition to the Sport Fishing Expo. "Last year, we unveiled a virtual fishing simulator that allowed those attending the Expo to fish for, catch and land a sailfish. This year, would-be boat owners can try their skills at the helm before purchasing a boat. We will also set up some friendly competition between some of our local Captains to see who should hold the title Best Captain when it comes to docking and maneuvering. "

The prestigious Maritime School of Florida, founded in 1971, will debut the new Boat Handling Simulator as part of the kickoff of Safe Boating Week, May 20 - 26, 2006. The Chapman School of Seamanship will also conduct a safe boating seminar to augment the fishing clinics to be conducted by local fishing experts, "The fishing seminars last year drew standing room only crowds. To accommodate more fishermen and women, we have expanded the seminars to 2 days, Saturday and Sunday. Best of all, the seminars by local fishing experts are free to the public.

The 2006 Expo will feature for sale: nautical items, fishing rods and

reels, boats and trailers, recreational vehicles and many other items related to the thriving Sport Fishing Industry on the Treasure Coast. "This truly is the only event of its kind

devoted entirely to the Treasure Coast Sport Fishing Industry - a multi-million dollar industry that employs thousands of people in our local counties," added Yates. "This is our way of saluting that industry with a free-to-the-public event where industry leaders can showcase and sell their products," said Yates.

The 2006 Treasure Coast Sport Fishing Expo will be held at the Treasure Coast Square mall in Jensen Beach. Anyone wishing to exhibit or take part as a vendor should make their reservations now as space is rapidly disappearing.

Once again for 2006, the highlight of the three-day-long Expo will be the announcement of the inductees into the Treasure Coast Sport Fishing Hall of Fame. Inductees will be honored for their contributions to the Sport Fishing Industry on the Treasure Coast.

Space for vendors and exhibitors at the 2006 Treasure Coast Sport Fishing Expo is available on a first come, first-secured basis. To sponsor or participate as an

exhibitor in this unique event, contact Sam Yates, Yates & Associates, or Max Media Advertising at 772-225-1292.

  • Fishing Expo to Debut Boating Fishing Expo to Debut Boating Simulator

    • From: Sam1
    • Description:

FORT PIERCE, Florida/April 7, 2006 - Have you ever wondered if you have what it takes to safely dock and maneuver a twin engine power boat without the risk of dinging or banging?

The remote control station features a steerable helm, twin controls with variable throttles and separate forward and reverse selectors just like a real boat.

The 2006 Expo will feature for sale: nautical items, fishing rods and reels, boats and trailers, recreational vehicles and many other items related to the thriving Sport Fishing Industry on the Treasure Coast. "This truly is the only event of its kind devoted entirely to the Treasure Coast Sport Fishing Industry - a multi-million dollar industry that employs thousands of people in our local counties," added Yates. "This is our way of saluting that industry with a free-to-the-public event where industry leaders can showcase and sell their products," said Yates.
