The former Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls has been having a problem since it closed in 2001 after more than a century of business producing Shredded Wheat cereal and more recently Triscuit crackers for Kraft Foods. Although the 375,000-square-foot site sits on prime real estate at the gateway to the city and has attracted redevelopment interest, like many vacant properties, it has also attracted more worrisome interest—trespassers and vandals.
The plant’s owner decided an alarm system was needed to complement the security guards already patrolling the site. The electric company wanted more than $80,000 just to re-install power to the plant, which would be used solely to power the alarm system, and power costs would add up each month afterward.
DFT Security proposed a better alternative. For $18,000 the West Seneca-based supplier of security alarm devices and monitoring designed and fabricated a rooftop solar panel mount that needed no other power supply. The customer saved more than $60,000 plus recurring power costs and was so impressed with DFT’s creativity and customer service, it gave the company three additional projects.
“Our company has an outstanding reputation for reliability, innovative technology, and exceptional customer service,” said DFT Security President and CEO James L. Brass. “With 30-plus years of experience, we understand the diverse needs of our customers and can come up with a customized and cost-efficient solution that will help protect against unexpected losses.”
DFT Security has approximately 6,300 commercial and residential customers throughout Western New York and the Northeast. Among its commercial customers are the Buffalo Bills, the University at Buffalo, Delaware North Companies, Tops Markets, and the Western New York Municipal Courts.

“We recently were involved in another interesting project with a local police department, the Department of Homeland Security and the Coast Guard,” said the hands-on CEO during a break making customer visits. He described the high-tech video surveillance system DFT Security designed for an area marina. “The cameras will be connected to a Wi-Fi network we’re installing and then connecting to the police department’s dispatch center for live viewing,” said Brass. “The cameras will be partially powered by solar energy and include both starlight and infrared imaging.”
Creative solutions like these are why the company is a leader in the local security alarm industry and wants to secure that position. DFT Security today announced that it is offering 1 million shares of common stock at a price of $1 per share to investors wanting to purchase ownership in the company.
“We’re conducting what’s called a Direct Public Offering, which is a way for small businesses like us to raise capital with a minimum of legaland administrative costs,” Brass explained. “We’ve even devised a creative way for potential investors to purchase shares. They can go online at www.DFTSecurity.info.”

Brass said he is confident a purchase will be a wise investment. “DFT Security started with one customer in 1980 and has since grown through acquisitions and sales to its current place as a leader in the residential and commercial security alarm industry,” said Brass. “We are now a $4 million company and this offering will provide the new capital that will allow us double the size of the company in five years.”
More information about DFT Security, its services, and its stock offering can be found on the company’s website at www.DFTSecurity.info.
There have a gateway open up then players can enter the battle dungeon by double clicking on the portal. Solo battle dungeon which is allow for a group of players to enter. Each 'platform' of the battle dungeon holds high quantities of tightly packed level(RF gold) 20-25 monsters, none of which drop any loot.
You need to kill 100 of the monsters in 5 minutes because the goal of the solo battle dungeon which called kill herodians in RF. All of the monsters in the battle dungeon count towards your total. Any character that can launch area of effect (AE) attacks will be of extreme use in this dungeon.
The group battle dungeon appears to be broken at the time of this writing (no reward given upon completion). The goal is to find and kill a Mater Brutal somewhere in the dungeon. The location of the monster is random and the huge clusters of low level(RF powerleveling) monsters are still there to make it interesting. The Mater Brutal is a level 25-ish pitboss. It doesn't hit very hard at all, but has a ton of HP. Make sure to bring some high DPS characters with you, as this dungeon also has a five minute timer.
The reward for completing a battle dungeon is 10,000 currency to each group member that survives. With some quick math, you can see that, while fun, battle dungeons are currently not worth the reward. Due to the tight clustering of the monsters, you probably need to be lvl 30+ to actually complete the battle dungeons, but at that point, the monsters unfortunately do not give any experience.

The landmark events of summer just keep on coming - and now it's time for the Canal Fest to take its turn in the spotlight. For the next week, the twin cities of the Tonawandas will host this annual carnival-like celebration featuring reams of daily entertainment, activities, and all of that delicious food and drink that you just can't get enough of during these sweet summer months. Tonight, highlights will include the annual tug-of-war between North Tonawanda and Tonawanda officials at 6:30 PM in Niawanda Park; country music from the Ramblin' Lou Family Band at 7:30 PM at the Miller Band Shell on Niagara Street; and Weekend, "classic at it's best," at 8 PM at the Gateway Stage. Check it out!
Western New York is a hotbed of free music in the summertime and tonight will be no exception - head north of the city after working hours and enjoy a pair of bands gratis when Ozone Rangers and Poison Whisky perform live as part of the West Herr Gateway Harbor Concert Series. The Rangers cover the music of ZZ Top, and Poison Whisky tackles the catalog of Lynyrd Skynyrd - so yes, indeed, it will be alright to scream "Play Freebird!" at the band because, well, you know that they probably will. The show begins at 6 PM at Gateway Harbor Park on Sweeney Street in North Tonawanda.
Welcome to Summer 2009 in Western New York, where each new day is seemingly welcomed with the fresh new possibility of intermittent thunderstorms. Why should the first day of July be any different? Assuming the weather holds - and being eternal optimists here in WNY, we're sure it will - popular local rockers Scott Celani and The Boys of Summer will keep the Gateway Park West Herr Ford Concert Series rolling in North Tonawanda tonight with a free double bill. Perhaps in the name of truth in advertising, The Boys of Summer should be renamed "The Boys of Unseasonably Wet and Chilly Weather." The show begins at 6 PM at Gateway Park, Sweeney Street, North Tonawanda.
